The Finance Department is responsible for the financial administration and management of the State. Its key functions include preparation of the Budget, examination of tax proposals, management of State borrowings and Government guarantees, framing of financial rules, monitoring of receipts, expenditure and fiscal balances, and regulating pay, leave and service conditions of State Government employees. It also ensures proper financial discipline, accountability and efficient use of public funds.
